Rachael trained as a Dental Hygienist in the Royal Air Force, United Kingdom, after graduating in 2006 she completed her military service before returning to her home county, Yorkshire, where she worked in NHS, private and hospital settings. She immigrated to Dubai in 2013, and in 2014 undertook a humanitarian trip to Kenya providing dental services to Aitong village, in the Masai Mara, Kenya.
Rachael is passionate about continuing education, adding skills to her clinic such as tooth whitening, smoking cessation, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, advanced periodontal therapy and is currently studying for a Master of Public Health. She regularly contributes to professional journals and is delighted to be a key opinion leader for Philips Sonicare.
Currently Rachael presides over the Emirates Dental Hygienists Club, the professional network for Dental Hygienists in the UAE. By bringing together like-minded clinicians they aim to reduce the inequalities in health and improve the dental health of the population through education and community support.
Her passion for dental prevention led her to be a contributor and hold a key role in establishing Dubai Smiles Healthy, a Dubai Health Authority scheme to introduce daily tooth brushing in schools, which has already proven to reduce the dental disease in both private and government establishments. With the support of Dentist Direct, Rachael and Dr Neil attend GEMS Wellington Academy Silicon Oasis regularly to talk to the parents and students about health and carry out dental screenings for the students.
As the mouth is the gateway to the rest of the body, Rachael is committed to helping you have great oral and overall health, using light hands and a gentle touch, hygiene visits become a pleasure.
